Champagne Tsarine is very pleased to be associated with the first Prix de la Femme Française de l’Année (Special Award of the French Woman in Australia), organised by Le Courrier Australien, a French-language magazine in existence since 1892 and the oldest press publication on the continent.
Twenty-five French women competed in a wide diversity of areas – education and teaching; sport, art and culture; gastronomy; research and innovation; sustainable development; solidarity–volunteerism; fashion; and viticulture.
The Prix Spécial de la Femme Française en Australie “rewards women who have distinguished themselves in Australia in terms of their entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, determination or commitment (social, sporting, personal, professional).”
Readers of Le Courrier Australien voted on line, and Maïtena Hernandez was awarded the prize. Maïtena is the founder of a company called “MyLittleFrance” which has been aiding young French speakers with Working Holiday Visas in taking their first steps in Australia for more than ten years.
The event, celebrated at a reception at the French Consulate General in Sydney, was also feted at a gala evening event at the Sofitel Wentworth on Wednesday 19 October with the distribution of the Awards to the winners in the various French of The Year in Australia 2022 categories. The events were of course fittingly celebrated with the delicate bubbles of Tsarine champagnes. Laurent Valy, Tsarine Brand Development Manager for Oceania, was on hand to represent The House of Chanoine Frères 1730.
Franck Coste, CEO of Chanoine Frères 1730, in the company of Isabelle Tellier, the House's Chef de Cave and creator of the Tsarine champagnes, appeared over a live link from Reims, recalling the origin of the brand and honouring the values shared by Champagne Tsarine and the Prix Spécial – femininity with daring, dynamism, and success – that are so well represented by these women with adventuresome and enterprising spirits who drive progress in the world.
