Two Réserve Privée Champagnes by Chanoine Frères Win Stars in the 2023 Hachette Wine Guide

Reims, September 2022

The Hachette Wine Guide has awarded stars to two Chanoine Frères Réserve Privée cuvées in its 2023 edition — Brut and 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs.

The new stars are further recognition of the work done by Isabelle Tellier, the House’s Chef de Cave and creator of the two cuvées, who develops and blends champagnes with roots and character for Réserve Privée.

Another star for Réserve Privée Brut

A star in the Hachette Wine Guide means “very successful”; the Guide’s tasting comments give details:

“This Sans Année [no vintage] brut emphasises red grapes (Pinot Noir 60%, Meunier 32%). Aged on the lees for 30 months, it gives an impression of youthfulness — pale-gold colour, flavours of citrus and white flowers with an added hint of brioche, an acidulated palate, good length of the citrus on the finish. Delicacy and freshness”

Réserve Privée Brut, you’ll recall, had received a star in the 2022 Hachette Guide.

Chanoine Frères Réserve Privée Brut is available from better wine dealers and on the Chanoine Frères 1730 online store.

A star for Réserve Privée Blanc de Blancs 100% Chardonnay

Réserve Privée Blanc de Blancs, blended exclusively from Chardonnay wines from the Côte des Blancs and the Côte de Sézanne, has been awarded a star by the Hachette Wine Guide with the following assessment:

A Chardonnay aged nearly four years on the lees, with generous flavours of white flowers and acidulated apple, a hint of spice, strongly energetic.

Isabelle Tellier, creator of this Blanc de Blancs champagne, tells how she went about blending the cuvée and suggests a few delicious food pairings in a recent video (1’17”)
