Tsarine Solium Wins Praise from the Guide Véron

Reims, January 2023

The year has started well for the new Tsarine Solium cuvée from the House of Chanoine Frères 1730, who had the pleasure of seeing it selected and commented on in the 2024 edition of the Véron Champagne Guide.

The 2024 Véron Guide calls Tsarine Solium an “inspiring” champagne

Since 2011 Michel Véron has published a specialized guide to the wines of Champagne in a bilingual French-English edition. An oenologist and professor of oenology at the Lycée Viticole de la Champagne, Michel Véron has developed an original approach: He chooses a limited number of champagnes — his “Favourites” — and for each publishes an analytic tasting, without assigning ratings or medals or classifications and giving priority to pleasure and emotion.

Here are the comments on Tsarine Solium in the latest edition of the Guide Véron:

“Aspect

Golden and crystalline.

Fine effervescence.

Nose

Notes of white and citrus fruits tenderly blend with aromas of red fruits and spices thanks to the inspired pairing of a majority of Chardonnay (72%) with Pinot Noir (28%), all carefully hand-harvested.

Palate

An assertive attack is reinforced by a controlled sugar dosage of only 5g/L added at disgorgement. Later, the sensation on the palate becomes more of a caress, delicately toasted, with the subtle patina of four years of ageing “sur lattes.”

With this Cuvée Solium, Isabelle Tellier, oenologist and Tsarine’s Chef de Cave, has created an inspiring champagne.”

Such praise from this lover of champagne with considerable experience is further recognition of the know-how and talent of Isabelle Tellier, creator of Tsarine’s Cuvée Solium.

Tsarine Solium is already winning awards

Tsarine Solium was quickly welcomed by professionals in the champagne world. In the USA, the cuvée was recently given 91 points by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, the benchmark US magazine in the world of wines and spirits. Under Wine Enthusiast’s scoring system, a score of between 90 and 93/100 means “Excellent - Highly recommended.”

In France, Tsarine Solium won a double gold medal in the 2022 Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge. Published in 19 languages, the Gilbert & Gaillard Wine Guide is an international benchmark for wine professionals and amateur wine lovers the world over.

You'll find Tsarine Solium at the best stores and on the House of Chanoine Frères’online shop.
