Reims, 30 March 2022
The 31st Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc ended with the Tsarine Marathon, a major stage of the Rallye that took place over two days, 30 and 31 March, in the desert and the dune sea of Erg Chigaga, between Oulad Driss and Foum-Zguid.
The event was captured in a Short Program episode on France’s M6 TV network entitled “Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc,” aired 30 March at 8:30 p. m. The program features beautiful images of the race, the competitors, the desert, and the bivouac. Franck Coste, CEO of Champagne Chanoine Frères, also appears, telling us what Tsarine’s engagement in this unique adventure means.
Champagne Tsarine is proud to be a partner of the all-women rally raid since 2015. The Rallye honors women’s strength and tenacity and their determination to excel and exceed limitations and expectations — all values to which Tsarine is very attached.
The off-road rally raid is unique in more than one way. It is an orienteering race with maps and compasses only, without GPS technology. The winner is the team who have covered the shortest possible distance. This year, 190 all-women teams, several driving electric vehicles, competed between 18 March and 2 April between Dar Kaoua and Foum-Zguid.
Tsarine’s involvement also takes the form of skills sponsorship within the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc Social and Environmental Responsibility Committee. Another way in which the Rallye is unique is its ISO 14001 environmental certification and its local engagement via the Coeur de Gazelles Association, which takes action in the areas of health, environment, reintegration into employment, and education in the regions and villages along the Rallye’s route.
