Congratulations to the city of La Rochelle and the Stade Rochelais, winner of the 2022 European Rugby Champions Cup Final!
The team, led by its captain Gregory Aldritt, won the final at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille on Saturday 28 May against the formidable Irishmen of Leinster, four-time Cup title holders.
A magnificent win with a score of 24 to 21 at the end of a highly intense match and a heart-pounding final quarter hour, with the winning try coming in the very last minutes…
It was La Rochelle’s first major title in the team’s history. Sunday, on their return home, the players were acclaimed triumphantly by more than 35,000 cheering fans at the port of La Rochelle.
The victory was properly celebrated, as can be seen in the photo of the parade, with Tsarine champagne... Tsarine is proud of its ten-year-long partnership with the Stade Rochelais!
