Chanoine Frères’ Réserve Privée Champagnes Win Hearts and Minds in the UK

Reims, June 2022

The Réserve Privée champagnes from Chanoine Frères are establishing a beachhead in the UK, driven by the popularity of vintage and pink champagnes and the increase in at-home drinking since the onset of the pandemic, with Britons doing their celebrating more at home now than before.

Chanoine Frères, the second-oldest of the champagne Houses, launched their Réserve Privée range in the UK in 2020 with their Brut Millésime 2014 vintage, and continued their development with the 2022 launch of the Réserve Privée Brut, Brut Millésime 2015 and Réserve Privée Rosé champagnes.

Réserve Privée is a family of champagnes developed by Isabelle Tellier, Chef de Cave of the House of Chanoine Frères: “I wanted to create a family of champagnes, close to the terroir, with character. These are fully-crafted wines, rich in taste; champagnes for champagne lovers, meant to be enjoyed among friends who know and love wine.”

Réserve Privée can now be found in the Majestic Wine network of shops, the UK’s largest chain specialising in wines, spirits and champagnes with more than 200 sales outlets both in high streets and urban peripheries.

Majestic Wine, well known for its tastings and for the many services it offers its customers, continues its growth both in “brick and mortar” outlets and in on-line sales.

Chanoine Frères’ Réserve Privée Millésime 2014 champagne was fêted on the famous cookery programme “Saturday Kitchen Live” — broadcast on Saturday mornings on BBC One — by writer and wine specialist Helen McGinn, an internationally-known wine expert and author of the blog and book entitledThe Knackered Mother's Wine Club.
